Hi, I’m Lisa

Hi, my name is Lisa, nice to meet you!

At home in the Detroit Metro area with my husband, teenaged daughter and two school-aged sons, life is not always peaceful. And when things get hectic and stressful, we dig deep and find the flowing river of the Lord’s peace, the peace that passes understanding. It is from this reservoir that we are able to draw power and live our lives as love songs.

In my work, I couple my passion for entrepreneurial endeavors with a love of helping people. I am a commissioned centering prayer presenter through Contemplative Outreach. I enjoy teaching others how to establish a centering prayer practice to deepen their spiritual lives.

A few year ago, I became an independent distributor for Reliv International, the nutritional epigenetics company, because I believe in making nutrition simple and in Reliv’s vision of nourishing our world. I love the idea that food is medicine and passionately study epigenetics with a deepening understanding of how genes tell part of our story AND that lifestyle choices impact our ability to live and love our lives.

I have dedicated my adult life to honoring my body by being physically active and in tune. Whether playing a sport or exploring the hiking trails at our country’s national parks, I have experienced the healing power of the forest and regained my sense of wonder and awe at this planet’s mighty creation.

May you see my light shine and may you feel inspired to Power Up! Play! And Pray!

Professional Bio

After earning business degrees at the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis and at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, I worked in marketing and customer service leadership. But January 1, 2002 was a day that changed my life forever. My daughter arrived 10 days past her due date, but she was right on time at 12:00:10 a.m. to usher in the new year and give us something to celebrate after the nation’s tragic year of 2001. As much as 9/11/01 opened my eyes to the cruelty that exists in the world, that New Year’s Day overwhelmed me with new expectations and new priorities. I became a full-time mom.

In 2005, I attended a workshop on a contemplative prayer practice and chose for myself the sacred word “peace” to deepen my intimacy with God. I was so taken by the prayer practice that I voraciously read several books within weeks of the workshop, four authored by Thomas Keating. A year later I spent 10-days in silent retreat at a Benedictine monastery in Snowmass, CO, where I met Thomas Keating. Two years later in 2008, I completed training through Contemplative Outreach and became a commissioned presenter of the centering prayer practice.

In addition to prayer I have spent years of my life maintaining my physical fitness through sport and also exploring the hiking trails at our country’s national parks. I played varsity soccer at Washington University in St. Louis during my undergraduate studies. I have explored the parks with my family from Maine to Alaska and Arizona to Montana and of course locally in Michigan. I have experienced the healing power of the forest and regained my sense of wonder and awe at this planet’s mighty creation.

My heritage of loving freedom and living on adventurous faith runs deep, all the way to ancestors who settled the colonies in search of religious freedom and an entirely new outlook on life. Although born in Lincoln, IL, I did most of my growing up in Pittsburgh, PA. My parents, who were high school sweethearts from upstate New York and are still married today, brought me up to love the Lord and shine my light.

I’m on a mission to support men and women to stop living out of alignment with their truth and start caring for yourself like the temple of the Holy Spirit that you already are. Are you ready?
